Why a professional photo matters on LinkedIn

Your LinkedIn profile photo is the first impression people get of you.

Before they read your headline.
Before they open your profile.
Before they decide to connect, reply, or take you seriously.

A clean, professional photo:

  • Builds instant trust

  • Signals credibility and seniority

  • Makes recruiters and hiring managers stop scrolling

The problem?
Not everyone has access to a professional photographer and most AI-generated photos look too fake.

So I tested multiple approaches and prompts until I found one that actually works.

All you need is a Google account! Although you can try the same prompt in ChatGPT or others and let me know the results!

How to create a professional LinkedIn headshot using AI

  1. Go to gemini.google.com

  2. Upload your best selfie:

    1. Good Lighting

    2. Neutral Expression

    3. No sunglasses or filters

  3. Paste this prompt:
